First Team Manager Visits Homework Club
We received a surprise visit from First Team Manager Ray McKinnon at our Homework Club project last week, just as the kids were taking on his role in mock press conferences. The aim of the exercise, with P4 pupils from St Peter and Pauls Primary School, was to develop communication skills. Jamie Kirk had this to say about the manager dropping by: “The engagement with First Team staff and players makes such a difference and it was great to see that rather than simply pose for a photo, the Manager pulled up a seat and got involved right away. I’ve said numerous times before that we are fortunate to have the support of the entire club and this kind of thing adds real value to our work. Many of the people we work with are living with significant disadvantage and this type of project allows us to not only help with fundamental skills such as numeracy and literacy, but to use the profile of the football club to allow those we work with to make lifelong memories.”
This was undoubtedly a fantastic experience for the class and the visit topped off what was a fantastic day of learning at Tannadice as part of the 8 week project. As the pictures above show, the project is being very well received by the latest group of kids.
