Dundee United Community Trust is thrilled to share that we have received a sizeable £5, 470.71 donation from the Dundee United Youth Development Board (DUYDB); which will assist in the continuation and development of our extensive sports programme for participants with a disability.

DUCT Chief Executive, Jamie Kirk, commented:

“We’re so grateful to the Dundee United Youth Development Board for this kind donation, it will really make a significant difference.  In line with the spirit of youth development, this money will assist us in continuing to deliver and evolve our sports programmes for children and young people with a disability.”

The multi-award-winning Para-Sports Club operated by the Community Trust is extensive, and having built a broad base of recreational disability sports provision over the past few years, we are now striving to give children, young people and adults with a disability the chance to play in structured formats of the game too.  We have been the sole team from Dundee in the Scottish FA Mental Health and Wellbeing League in recent years and our team continues to do themselves proud each season.  Our partnership with Tayside Dynamos has seen the Trust add a development team (Dundee United Dynamos) into the league and cup formats, and this year we have added our own DUCT team into the Autism festivals and cup structure.

Audrey Glen, on behalf of the Dundee United Youth Development Board, added:

“The Dundee United Youth Development Board are delighted to help the Dundee United Community Trust with a donation that will secure the future growth and success of the Para-Sports Club. Long may it’s success continue to grow!”

Our Para-Sports Club, as with all of our activities, relies heavily on the generosity of others through grant funding and donations and we’d like to say a huge thanks to the DUYDB for this generous donation.
