Dundee United Community Trust is delighted to present its Para-Sports Club 2021 Impact Report.  This report details the impressive year our Para-Sports Club had whilst navigating the challenges faced due to Covid-19. The report also shares stories from some of our members.

Jamie Kirk, Chief Executive, commented, “I’m really proud of the significant achievements of Dundee United Para-Sports Club to date.  Huge credit must go to Paul Wilson, Ryan Alexander and all of the coaches, volunteers, participants, parents, partners and funders for pulling together to improve the opportunities to take part in sport available to people living with a disability in Dundee.  While this report highlights the major steps forward in providing equality of opportunity, the most exciting thing for me is that this is really just the beginning for what those involved in DUPSC can and will achieve in the coming months and years.”

Last year saw the project undergo a major rebrand as the plans to grow included expanding into other sports. Dundee United Para-Football Club became Dundee United Para-Sports Club and with it came the launch of Para-Athletics Club and two Boccia Clubs. 2021 also saw the Trust welcome Ryan Alexander as its first full time Para-Sports Development Officer.

Paul Wilson, Head of Community Development, added, “We’re extremely proud of what our Para-Sports Club has achieved so far. Ryan has done a great job since coming into post however we all agree that we have only just scratched the surface in removing some of the barriers faced by people living with a disability.”
