PARA-SPORTS CLUB

Dundee United Para-Sports Club started in early 2019 and has won multiple awards for its approach and success in breaking down barriers to allow people living with a disability the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports, including football, boccia, and athletics. The Para-Sports Club continues to be held in very high regard nationally, and is one of the leading providers of sports and physical activity for people living with a disability in our City.

The Para-Sports Club was established to provide extra support for those who require it to make community sport accessible for people with a physical disability, learning disability, sensory impairment or mental ill health, where appropriate. Whilst we would love to cater for everyone’s individual needs, we are not properly equipped or resourced to provide one-to-one support or a personal care service, and we request that parents/guardians or carers remain at our sessions to provide this support to the participants.

The safeguarding of those taking part in our sessions is of paramount importance to us therefore all sessions are delivered by coaches who have been through appropriate PVG Scotland checks, undertaken wellbeing & protection training courses, and have started their coach education journey with the Scottish FA or other appropriate NGB.
